We went out at lunch, until we hit a little bit of rain, and turned it around and hightailed it back. We walked in the building, and about two minutes later, the hail hit. It wasn't big, like marble-sized, but it went on for about forty five minutes.

This was beneath one of the apple trees up the street.

A bit of wind around lunchtime, but no rain or hail on this side of town. I worry about trees this time of year. I think we're past the ice storms but hail is the big concern on those tender new leaves.

When there's a bunch of fallen blossoms like that, if it is dry enough, I enjoy scooping up double-handfuls and throwing it in the air like confetti.

Here I was trying to figure out why the hail was pink!

And it's hail, or at least the chance for hail,for _months_. My brother has taken to hanging hardware cloth above his tomato plants (container garden on his deck) to prevent anything more than about 6mm from hitting them.

I probably should have, but these were definitely not dry enough at this point.

It was narrow little bands. My aunt lives four kilometers away from where I work and had none. Yesterday my brother rode his bike through a band of hail on his way home, that was only three blocks wide.

It looked like that for a while.

Mountain weather....

I figure I need to rig the tunnels after I plant out peppers and tomatoes and before Chun Woo and I head to England-- or pause the planting-out.

I hope you're not silent through pain or frustration.

Exhaustion and unhappiness, yeah, but also just too much to do.

Yes, we're lucky.But gardening-wise I'm glad we'll be back in Early June.

I'm so sorry. Exhaustion, unhappiness, and a great pressure of duty are a horrible combination. I am holding my thumbs for better things for you.
