I was partly wrong about previous notes. Newer subarus have an oil level light and a separate oil pressure light. Former is yellow, latter is red. Subarus are okay. When you get work done and replacement parts installed, make sure they use original subaru parts. They're notorious for freaking out and misbehaving if mechanics install similar but not original parts. (Especially anything electronic, like oxygen or throttle position sensors.)
