Dinner the other night was stirfry baby bok choy and snow peas. I think it almost maxed out my camera's color dynamic range.

We went to a movie at the local Alamo Draft House, that started out as a mildly dystopian science fiction film, started heading towards a Fight Club, and then suddenly turned into a horror movie.
This diagram was on the bathroom.

We went out to dinner with my mom and stared at their saltwater tanks a lot.
Kinda wondering if this is a real thing or a painted rock thing.

These were real starfish, smaller than dimes, because they were moving.

When we got home, my dog had eaten my homework. This is one of my evaluation boards from work, for which I cut a custom heatsink that has a tiny recess in it above each point where there is a switching signal exposed on the bottom layer of the board, to reduce how much the switching signal can couple into the heatsink. Monty had removed the bag from my work duffel bag, taken it into the bedroom, and gnawed experimentally on the corner, before deciding that PCB's don't taste good.

I'm all "they're so cuuuuu... wait, it's a rock-like five armed thing. Just because it's small, I find it cute?" That's really hard-wired in, isn't it?

She wants to be an electrical engineer. She thinks she'll get fed more.

Maybe she intends to mainline power directly. Wanting to bypass the sensuality of smelly meaty stuff seems awfully undoggy, though.

I am... glad that PCB doesn't taste good, I guess? I hope she's good at internalizing (pun not intended) her learned experiences? I love the stir fry and the "anyone" sign.

She is not at all good at internalizing experiences when it comes to food. I bet I could feed her stinging nettle five times in a row.

Yes. Weird film. Very interesting.

We were... not prepared for how weird it got. Which was kind of awesome, in fact. I need to see it again.

Monty is a silly pup and you may tell her I said so.

She thinks she is hungrier than she really is.

It's a real coral. Some species fluoresce under the right lighting. It's one reason people keep them.

The bok choy looks tasty! Unlike the PCB board. But to take Monty's perspective, if you don't try it, how can you be sure?

I try to imagine my dog's point of view but it all falls apart when she decides what she really needs to do is flop around on her back trying to bite my pillow.

I want the starfish.

(Okay, they're almost certainly adapted to warmed conditions than my tanks, and those are almost not my tanks. Phooey!)

Starfish are ubiquitous in Seattle, and every time I've stuck my toe in that water I was very thankful I was a land-based animal.

Yes, it's just been a matter of justifying the expense - and there were the problems with starfish wasting disease, though it sounds like that's improving? I have had a few brittle stars. (Probably still do - they'll disappear for months, and then pop up again.)
